I read that cats can make the same sounds as human babies when in need or distress. That is why we are so quick to respond to them when they cry out. One thing I have noticed in our home with two cats is that when one gets sick and starts to throw up, I am the only one who seems able to hear it. No matter if I am asleep and others awake, or if we are all in the same room, only I can hear a cat throw up? Wonder why I was given such a grand gift of selective hearing. 🙂 Hugs
