I grapple for a time
When difference is a given
Fact
Fact:
To be not them
Is a sin without
Forgiveness
Forgiveness
Is given by them
To those who become,
Them
Them who are everything
Them who are law
Them who are
Love
Love which is for
Them
Thus, I am
Confined, within my mind
Grappling with them
To let, simply,
Me
Be
Me
This is a quite a gem.
They should let you be you

On par with Mike Steeden’s work. And he’s the best contemporary poet I know. Okay, so he’s the only contemporary poet I know of besides you. Actually, you two are the only poets I know of. The point is, it’s poems like these that make me appreciate poetry.

Why thank you greatly, my friend. Mike Steeden IS one of THE best damn poets I’ve ever read, and I have a Masters Degree in English Lit. He inspired me to write poetry again, something I haven’t done in quite a few years. Your comments are greatly valued.

Yours, from me, are warranted. (Yes! I am that vain!)

BTW, I watched “No Such Thing,” and I loved it. It was a very enjoyable film. Thanks for pointing it out.

Pleasure, glad you liked it. I think Hartley missed the boat in telling the more intimate, deeper, darker story of the Monster, but its not a bad flick.

Right. If I were directing, that’s what the story would’ve focused on intently, but, it was still a very good film.

Loved this, Jeff. The timing is interesting as I just finished a guest post — deadline was today (not being published until next week) and touched on this.

I love the structure and the way you move from subject to subject to get to yourself. The title may be confined this poetry flows free 🙂
