Four long wooden ships with snake-like things sticking off the fronts of them docked this morning about 150 miles from Washington D.C. The ships were carrying a total of 40 Scandinavian Vikings on horseback. The Vikings quickly rode toward the Capitol and stormed it. They were donned in bronze helmets and chain mail vests and were armed with wooden shields, battle axes, and 3 foot long tarnished swords. They rode about the Capitol knocking over mailboxes, shouting at elderly people, and teasing dogs. After about 45 minutes of this tomfoolery, the Vikings rode back to their ships and set sail for their Northern home. They said very little during their reign of terror, but promised they’d return and do it again if President Obama doesn’t send them 200 dollars each via Western Union by next Saturday. President Obama has not said whether or not he’ll be sending the money, but he said the whole event has made him very, very angry. “I’m mad, and I don’t care who knows about it,” he said.
Fucking Vikings…

I just finished watching “Vikings” when I wrote that. It’s an amazingly excellent piece of historical fiction that The History Channel runs. Yes, The History Channel. I was shocked a series this good could found there these days, but I highly recommend it-especially if you like movies like Brave Heart and shows like Game of Thrones. Good stuff.

While I’m not really into Game of Thrones or anything in the fantasy/fantastic history genry, but the history part of it does appeal to me…let’s just say I’ll look it up on Youtube (which is as much as I’m willing to do to watch something from the History channel;))

It isn’t fantasy, it’s historical fiction, a dramatic series. Truly excellent. That it’s on The History Channel is what kept me from watching it for 2 years, but I assure you, it is not their usual shit. It’s light years beyond that. It’s more like a well produced HBO series. I don’t have cable, so I’m not sure if History Channel runs it or just produces it in part. It won’t be on YouTube, but the first season should be streamable from somewhere for free.It is about Ragnar Lothbrok, the famous/mythological Viking hero and his ass-kicking of Briton. I’m stunned that History channel has anything to do with something this good as they are the epitome of shit when it comes to anything else, unless you like Ancient Alien bullshit.

BTW, I’m only suggesting Vikings if you like things like Brave Heart and Gladiator. It’s historical fiction but very violent. The Vikings weren’t known for their gentleness with those they raided. They used a horrible execution method known as “the blood eagle” on those they really hated. Not nice at all.

Of course, he’s angry. But 200×40 is not that much.

He’s more angry cause they were teasing his dog, or so I’ve heard.
